An info screen project is ready for deployment immediately after saving or if you used the Preview Project option that includes saving (note that this is not the case with Preview Scene option). Everything you need is stored in the project's folder so just go there and pick it up.
The default location where the program saves its projects is \My Documents\Dynamic Info Screen\Projects and each project gets its own subfolder there. When you open the project's folder you will see a project definition file with extension .XDIS, the project license text file (if the project is created with the licensed version of the program) and the DISPlayerSetup.exe file for installing the project player where necessary. There might also be any number of subfolders that keep files relevant to project's scenes.
To successfully transfer an info screen project to another computer you need all its files from the project folder. Therefore it is the best to always copy the whole project folder with all contents including any existing subfolders. If you opt for archiving so you have only one file for copying then just make sure that the original folder structure is preserved when unpacked on the target computer.
If you are setting up an info screen project on a new computer then your first step is the installation of the project player. To do that double click on the DISPlayerSetup.exe file and go though the standard setup process like for any other software. By default the project player is installed to this folder:
C:\Program Files\XemiComputers\Dynamic Info Screen\Player\
With the project player installed you can simply double click the project definition .XDIS file to run the project. The other option is to start the project player and then point to the project definition file you want to play.
If you want to make an info screen project start automatically when the computer is switched on then you just need to do the following. Create a shortcut to the project definition .XDIS file and place it in the Startup menu of the computer. |
